American Express created this scholarship in 1994 to honor the outstanding contributions made by Mr. Jesse K. Blackman. Mr. Blackman joined the American Express company in 1980, and held several positions of increasing responsibility in training and development. In 1983, he was promoted to vice president, management education, and in 1989, he joined the Travel Services Group as the as the vice president of human resources. At that time, Mr. Blackman became involved in the Academy of Travel & Tourism program.
One, $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in 2003.
Postmark deadline is March 31st, 2003.
Eligible applicants must:
- Be a graduating senior from an Academy of Travel & Tourism, and be planning to pursue travel and tourism related studies.
